Courtesy: The Lahore Times

Former dictator, General Retired Pervez Musharraf is facing treason trial. Rather than facing the court, He is staying in Armed forces institute of cardiology. The heart problems faced by Musharraf might be real but after the Medical report released by AFIC there is no reason that Musharraf should remain absent from court proceedings. Apart from that, there is a group of people who is defending Musharraf. They are doing their utmost efforts to prevent the former dictator from facing the law from his crimes. Such people can be found in every type of media and its heart breaking for a common Pakistani to see such people defending a person like Musharraf.

Supporters of Pervez Musharraf

Pakistan has a very tragic history of Military interventions. Four Military dictators have ruled the country for 32 years out of 66 years, since inception of Pakistan. The last military dictator of Pakistan was General Pervez Musharraf. He ruled Pakistan from 1999 till 2008 on gun point. He destroyed Pakistan during his rule, which was the second worst reign in history of Pakistan after general Zia-ul-Haq's Military rule. Musharraf is a traitor under constitution of Pakistan and He must be condemned for his crimes. Although, majority of Pakistanis condemn him and remember him as a tyrant but unfortunately there is a minor section of the society which supports him. Yes, that's right there are some people which support dictator/Traitor Musharraf. One can easily say that such people can't be rational, objective, politically conscious and even sane.

In reply to Pervez Musharraf

Pervez Musharraf, former military dictator addressed a conference about Balochistan this past Sunday through Video conferencing. This Conference was arranged by Pakistan First, a group of retired Armed forces officers. Musharraf in his address said that 60% of People of Balochistan are with Pakistan and only 3000 to 4000 people are creating trouble who are backed by foreign elements. He further said that Billions of rupees were spent on development of Balochistan in his tenure as President of Pakistan. He also alleged that Talal Bugti and his son Shahzain Bugti has links with foreign elements and Marri, Mengal and Bugti tribes of Balochistan are involved in backing the insurgents. This is not first time Musharraf has uttered nonsense about Balochistan, he regularly gives similar statements. He was the person who started the current armed conflict in Balochistan.

The Return of Musharraf

Date: 26th January, 2012

Former dictator General (retired) Pervez Musharraf has announced that He will return to Pakistan. First He said He will grace the country with his arrival between 27th and 30th January. Later it was announced that He is not coming and more contradictory announcements came from his party officials. Many people are eagerly waiting his arrival. Most people want him to face the law for the crimes that he committed in his 9 year regime which was for sure darkest period in history of Pakistan.

Musharraf was made Army chief out of turn by Nawaz Sharif on 7th October 1998. A year later, Musharraf toppled Nawaz government and seized power after a bloodless coup. He gave a seven point agenda days after his takeover which were very good. He initiated an aggressive accountability campaign against corrupt politicians. Later, on 10th October 2002, He held general elections. These proved to be the massively rigged elections in history of Pakistan. Ethesham Zameer then head of political wing of Pakistan’s premier Spy agency accepted the rigging allegation off the record.

End of darkest period in Pakistan

Pervez Musharaf's Period
From: Approximately 7 PM on 12th October, 1999
 To: 2:03 PM on 18th August, 2008.

Dictator General (retd.) Pervez Musharaf resigned from the office of president of Pakistan at 2.03 Pm on 18th of August, 2008. He gained power on the eve of 12th October, 1999 by means of a coup d, e'tat. His resignation brought an end to the darkest period in Pakistan which buried her deep down in a pit of destruction.

After assuming power he became the chief executive of Pakistan with a handpicked cabinet. This new title made the country more or less like a company being run by a CEO. He remained Chief executive till June 2001, after that he became de facto president of country by forcefully removing then President Rafique tarar. He held a rigged referendum on 30th April 2002 in which he won a land slide victory, thanks to state apparatus. After passing of 17th amendment he took vote of confidence from Parliament in January 2004. He also promised to remove his uniform till December 2004. He soon became defiant to this promise and remained in uniform for three more years. He once again got himself elected in a bogus presidential on 6th of October, 2007. At the time of presidential election one month of life of Electoral College I.e. national and provincial assembly and senate, was remaining. He imposed second martial law in the name of emergency on 3rd November 2007 and sacked dozens of judges led by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudry.
